If you've worn wigs before and paid attention to the lace part, you may have noticed that the netting material on one wig seems thicker than the other, and may even be a different color.
Why this?
Well, just as the hair in each wig varies depending on its origin, the nets are not all made from the same material, which is why they come in different textures or colors.
It is important that you know the type of net/lace your wig comes with so that you can have an application that meets your expectations!
There is a wide variety, however, the most common are
- French Lace
- Swiss Lace
- HD Lace
French Lace
Before we evolved into the more “invisible” versions of the net, French lace was the typical lace that was used in the past in the construction of wigs.
It is made of a thicker material , allowing it to be firmer and more resistant. However, because it is thicker, it will be more visible on the skin, especially if you have light skin since it is a brownish-toned material. On the other hand, it will not be as visible if you have skin richer in melanin.
Swiss Lace
Swiss lace is basically the Chanel version of French lace… The quality is much better and, because it is finer , it is much less visible when applied.

Being a more fragile material, it is not as resistant as other types of lace.
HD Lace
This is the one that lace lovers drool over! As the name suggests, this type of lace is considered to be the best quality because of the great results it produces!
