There is so much to know when it comes to buying a wig, but in this specific article I will talk strictly about the different lace sizes !
It is important to know this because knowing the lace sizes will help you choose the most appropriate wig, especially for those who are new to the world of wigs!
U-Part
A wig is called a U-Part when it has an opening from the center to the front of the wig.
You just have to put on the wig and fasten it with the inner hooks. You are supposed to leave some of your hair in the opening part of the wig to cover it to simulate the continuation of your hair.
I don't recommend this type of wig if you're going to use wigs with silky hair textures, such as straight hair. In that case, assuming you have curly hair, you would have to constantly straighten your hair to match the texture of the wig - which would be very damaging to your hair! It's better with U-Part wigs with curly hair texture!
Lace Closure 4x4, or 5x5
I highly recommend wigs with this type of lace for anyone who wants to start wearing wigs but doesn't have the skill or patience to deal with ear-to-ear lace, baby hairs, etc. But at the same time, it gives a realistic look and you don't have to use any of your own hair! Just put it on and you're done!
Lace Frontal 13x4 or 13x6
In a 13x4 or 13x6 lace wig, the lace goes all the way around the forehead - that is, it goes from ear to ear. They are 13 inches wide and 4/6 inches high. They are also known as lace frontal wigs.
In the case of these wigs, you have to use glue. for wigs or anything else that holds the lace! These are intended to simulate the entire hairline as natural.
Lace 360
A 360 wig is one in which the lace, as the name suggests, goes 360 degrees around the head, meaning the lace goes all the way around the head! This type of wig requires you to use glue – or another type of fixative – around the entire circumference of the head.
Full Lace
A Full Lace wig is a wig that is only made of lace... and hair, of course! Do you know the lace front of a wig? Imagine that, but on the entire wig!
Fun fact: The laces of the wigs are made by hand and the extensions of the wig are made by machine.
Full Lace wigs require more labor, hence their higher price tag, not only because they are handmade but also (being made entirely of lace) because you can divide the hair into literally any part: front and back! Amazing, right?
Important : Do not confuse Full Lace with 360, as 360 has extensions sewn into the center of the wig and its lace extends to the back of the neck, while Full Lace is all handmade, without extensions sewn into the middle.
